The Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association is celebrating the season with 12 Days of Gingerbread, a festive countdown aligned with our annual Gingerbread Village Showdown.

Over twelve days, we’ll be sharing special updates about the competition across our social media channels, featuring incredible creations from local bakers, behind-the-scenes highlighting community partners, and hosting exciting Instagram giveaways.

Lights, camera, gingerbread!

Step into the sweetest competition of the season! The Gingerbread Village Showdown invites local businesses, organizations, and community members to put their baking and building skills to the test. Hosted at Central City Shopping Centre, this festive showcase transforms Downtown Surrey into a winter wonderland of creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit.

Competitors will bring their favourite films to life in gingerbread form for a chance to win cash prizes—and earn bragging rights as Surrey’s top gingerbread architect. A celebrity Food Network champion will join the judging panel, while the public can vote for their favourites, with all proceeds benefiting the Surrey Food Bank.

Join us at Central City Shopping Centre for the Gingerbread Showdown, featuring two live holiday-themed decorating demos by Food Network and Netflix star Chef Jujhar Mann! A multi-award-winning TV baker celebrated for his bold flavours and exceptional artistry, Chef Jujhar brings his talent, creativity, and showmanship to Downtown Surrey for two special appearances.

Catch him live and in person on Saturday, November 29 at 1:00PM and Sunday, December 7 at 2:00PM for back-to-back festive demos. On Saturday, watch Chef Jujhar craft a stunning Christmas tree cake step-by-step. On Sunday, he’ll elevate a classic store-bought gingerbread house into a showstopping creation you can easily recreate at home.

This holiday season, Downtown Surrey is transforming into a festive wonderland — one window at a time!

Our team of local artists will be painting storefront windows complimentary, turning participating businesses into dazzling holiday showpieces that capture the magic of the season. Each design helps brighten Downtown Surrey, inviting visitors, shoppers, and photo-takers to explore all our community has to offer.
